Electronics Technician

About the Role

We are seeking an Electronics Technician to join our manufacturing team and play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing automated electronic assembly equipment. In this hands-on position, you will support production by performing equipment setup, programming, thermal profiling, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance activities. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to grow their technical skills, as training and development are provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and light repairs on SMT and automated assembly equipment.
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Utilize CIM, CAM, and CAD data to create and maintain machine programming in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and assist in developing efficient manufacturing processes and build techniques.
  • Develop and maintain thermal profiles to ensure compliance with industry standards and optimize product quality.
  • Conduct process capability studies and statistical measurements (CPK/PPK) to support process control and equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate degree coursework in Electromechanical Technology, Manufacturing Systems, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Alternatively, a diploma or technical certification in Electronics, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related technical discipline will be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of related technical experience required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in electro-mechanical maintenance, manufacturing, or equipment support preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, specifications, and CAD/CAM data.
  • Knowledge of SMT manufacturing equipment, programming, and maintenance practices.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, safety, and process improvement.

Work Environment

This position supports a high-volume electronics manufacturing facility specializing in circuit board assembly. Equipment supported includes:

  • SMT and through-hole (PTH) manufacturing equipment
  • DEK screen printers
  • ASM placement machines
  • Electrovert and Vitronics reflow ovens
  • Wave solder equipment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Neenah, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
