Position Summary:
The Electronics Technician is responsible for performing accurate wiring processes using drawings, schematics, and verbal instructions under general supervision. As well as selecting wiring procedures that are best suited for the job to ensure all work is performed in a safe manner.
Job Description/Expectations:
- Route cables and terminating connections.
- Wire control panels from electrical schematics
- Prepare electrical boxes for installation
- Install sensors, lights and other components as required.
- Document all operations performed as required.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge / Skills / Expertise:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical or Trade School degree or certification preferred.
- Excellent electrical knowledge. (AC/DC)
- 1-3 Years of Industrial Electrical experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Ability to route electrical wire with good quality while working in tight spaces.
- Understanding of control systems and related software.
- Proficiency in English
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible and adaptable, as well as action oriented.
Safety, Environmental Conditions and Work Environment:
- Exposure to certain contaminants, at times.
- Exposure to loud noise levels, at times.
- Duties performed in office, and production shop, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.
- It can be fast paced.
- Required personal protective equipment when in designated areas.
Tools and Equipment Used:
- Standard office and warehouse equipment
- Use of various electrical, hand and power tools.
- Use of various manufacturing tools and equipment
Physical Demands:
- Stand, bend, sit, stoop, crawl, squat, kneel, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and walk for 8-10 hours per day.
- Regularly required to hear and talk.
- Must have the ability to see close.
- Be able to withstand exposure to Production Environment.
- Be able to tolerate high noise levels with the protection of earplugs.
