Job Description:

  • Client Integrated Systems - Electronics and Controls, located in Forest, Ohio, is a leading independent aerospace supplier of mission-critical thermal and fluid management products for commercial and military platforms.
  • The company provides solutions utilized on aircraft, engines, advanced weapons pods, cruise missiles, avionics, and electronic systems.

Position Summary

  • The FAA Repairman is a non-union working member of the repair station charged with overseeing, directing, assigning, and approving the work of repair station staff.
  • FAA Repairmen are selected based on technical skills, experience, mentoring capabilities, and willingness to accept responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all parts and components removed from a repair station unit are routed to the applicable assembly cell.
  • Ensure work is documented by a valid service and operation number and that the work scope is properly identified.
  • Inspect parts and components by obtaining and interpreting work cards, reviewing inspection requirements, and performing visual inspections per IPC-A-610.
  • Ensure proper and approved technical data is available and utilized by repair station staff.
  • Be responsible for personal work and the work performed by assigned staff.
  • Ensure proper execution of part tags attached to repairable, serviceable, or condemned parts.
  • Ensure all serviceable tags are installed on components and properly annotated.
  • Monitor and oversee staff activities to ensure top-quality workmanship.
  • Manage existing process documentation and incorporate service bulletins and Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) amendments.
  • Develop new processes for component-level repair activities.
  • Verify that staff members are qualified and utilize the appropriate procedures, references, and tools.
  • Perform on-the-job training and identify additional training requirements.
  • Schedule and assign work to repair station personnel.
  • Provide estimates for out-of-scope work, including non-routine maintenance activities.
  • Obtain customer approvals for original, revised, or additional maintenance estimates.
  • Interface effectively with management, other departments, and coworkers.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety programs and procedures during assigned shifts.
  • Manage material orders, usage, quantities, and cancellations when alternate repairs are identified.
  • Oversee and perform various non-destructive testing activities as required.
  • Conduct repair station incoming inspections for new and continued-service parts.
  • Verify certifications from manufacturers or overhaul facilities.
  • Inspect received parts for shipping or customer-related damage.
  • Perform outgoing inspections and return-to-service activities.
  • Publish maintenance reports and complete final documentation packages.
  • Perform inventory adjustments and component record updates.
  • Verify sales and purchase order accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable FAA regulations and FAR requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a technician in aerospace manufacturing or commercial aircraft environments.
  • A&P Certificate or FAA Repairman Certificate experience with specialized inspection authority preferred.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and related technical documents.
  • Four-year technical degree is a plus.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with applicable FAA regulations and FAR Parts governing maintenance, repairs, certifications, inspections, and repair station operations.
  • Familiarity with Air Transport Association (ATA) Spec 100 technical manuals.
  • Ability to understand and interpret Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs).
  • Ability to use inspection methods, techniques, equipment, tools, and practices required to determine airworthiness..
