Electronics Technician

Installs, programs, repairs, maintains, and modifies advanced state-of-the-art electronic equipment, software, and computer-controlled systems in the following electronic disciplines: Card Access Systems, Video Management Systems, and Audio/Video (A/V) systems. Uses a work order system for job assignment, tracking, and completion. Employee modifies electronic products and software that are computer-processor- controlled. Work is performed under the general direction of a supervisor and is reviewed through conferences, examination of reports, observation of work results, and equipment performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:

• An Associate's Degree in Electronics OR completion of a two (2) year technical/vocational electronics program OR 1,000 hours of military training in Electronics; minimum of two (2) years of work experience in electronics,

OR

• Graduation from high school/equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of work experience in electronics.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field,
• Three (3) years of experience with computer-based access control systems,
• Experience with Internet Protocol (IP)-based Video Management Systems,
• Experience with QSC Digital Signal Processors, and
• AV system design and installation experience.
