About the Role:
Sapphire Recruitment is seeking an Associate Electronics Test Technician for a premier opportunity in North Syracuse. You will support critical depot operations by testing, troubleshooting, and repairing advanced electronic warfare and radar systems. This role involves working with RF, digital processing, and power-based components in a highly innovative defense and intelligence manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test and Troubleshoot: Diagnose complex system and equipment problems following established technical procedures.
- Component-Level Repair: Identify faulty components on circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and troubleshoot RF, digital, and voltage failures down to the component level.
- Equipment Mastery: Set up and operate automated and manual test equipment, including digital multimeters, spectrum and network analyzers, signal generators, RF power meters, and oscilloscopes.
- Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret complex electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Solder Rework: Perform precision solder rework of surface-mounted components on circuit card assemblies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of test results, troubleshooting steps, and repair actions to support manufacturing data.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Associate degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical specialty (0+ years experience) OR High School Diploma/Trade School/Military training with 3+ years of related experience.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated ability to use commercial test equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, etc.) and experience troubleshooting circuit card assemblies.
- Certifications: IPC J-STD-001 Solder Certification is highly desired.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in an active lab/manufacturing setting.
