Position Available: Electrophysiologist

The Division of Cardiology at our organization is looking for a full-time Electrophysiologist to join our expanding academic faculty as an Assistant or Associate Professor. This role provides a unique chance to engage in a comprehensive range of electrophysiology practices within a collaborative academic setting.

We are enhancing our team, which currently includes 18 cardiologists and 5 advanced practice providers, to address the growing demand for our services. Established in 1839, our institution is one of the oldest private medical schools in the nation and hosts the only academic tertiary care hospital in the Capital Region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage an outpatient electrophysiology clinic, including outreach initiatives.
  • Conduct inpatient consultations for electrophysiology.
  • Perform ablation procedures and implant devices.
  • Collaborate with faculty in advanced heart failure, interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and cardiovascular imaging.
  • Contribute to the education and development of fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers.
Qualifications:
  • MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in Clinical Electrophysiology.
  • Clinically focused with research experience and teaching capabilities suitable for an academic appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities are highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • A strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and advancing the field of cardiology. Experience in complex ablations, lead extraction, and advanced device therapy is preferred.
  • Ability to teach, mentor, and work alongside medical students, residents, cardiology fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Eligibility for academic appointment and medical licensure in New York State.
