Job Title: Electrophysiology Technologist
Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601 (New Jersey Area)
Schedule Options:
- 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- 5x8-hour shifts or 4x10-hour shifts
- Weekends and holidays as needed
- On-call required
Work Hours: ~40 hours per week
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electrophysiology Technologist to support invasive cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures. This role involves assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures, managing advanced cardiac equipment, and ensuring optimal patient care in a catheterization lab environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize procedure rooms, sterile trays, and specialized equipment
- Assist physicians with invasive cardiac, peripheral, and electrophysiology procedures including ablations and device implants
- Support temporary and permanent pacemaker placements and circulatory support devices (e.g., IABP, Impella)
- Position patients and assist with monitoring setup during procedures
- Calibrate and operate hemodynamic monitoring systems and transducers
- Collect, calculate, and analyze hemodynamic and cardiac output data
- Operate power injectors and digital imaging systems (cine technologies)
- Assist with vascular access, sheath removal, and hemostasis techniques
- Apply radial access banding and monitor access site integrity
- Recognize and interpret cardiac arrhythmias
- Maintain inventory, equipment readiness, and supply levels
- Ensure compliance with Clinical Cardiovascular Information Systems (CVIS) standards
- Participate in on-call rotation and support emergency procedures
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technologist program
OR Radiologic Technologist program
OR Associate’s degree in Applied Science (AAS) - Minimum experience in Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology (EP) procedures
- Strong knowledge of EP procedures including mapping, ablation, and implantable devices
- Proficiency in sterile technique and procedural support
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Basic to intermediate computer proficiency (Microsoft Office/Google Suite)
Required Certifications & Licensure
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA) – must obtain within 3 months of employment
- RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or Radiologic Technologist License (required within 1 year)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with electrophysiology intra-procedural mapping and ablation
- Knowledge of implantable cardiac devices
- Familiarity with catheterization lab workflows and equipment

- Fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment
- Requires flexibility for on-call, weekends, and holidays
