Commensurate with certification/licensure and experience based on the Wicomico County Salary Scale for Teachers.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must hold or be eligible for a Maryland professional certificate/license in Early Childhood and/or Elementary Education.
- Master's degree preferred but not required.
- At least five (5) years of satisfactory teaching experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities that motivate and inspire others.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing a Multi-Tiered Supports (MTSS) to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students through data-informed decision-making and targeted interventions.
- Proficient in applying tiered behavioral supports, including de-escalation techniques, restorative practices, and behavior intervention planning, in alignment with Wicomico County Public Schools (WCPS) policies and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in observing student behavior in the homeschool environment to identify target behaviors and support the development of individualized goals to be addressed within the alternative setting.
- Develop and implement targeted Behavior Intervention Plans based on individual student needs.
- Model effective behavioral strategies and responses for staff and provide real-time coaching and feedback during implementation.
- Design and implement individualized coaching cycles that support the professional growth of educators.
- Collect and analyze data on student behavior, academic performance, and engagement to drive instruction and intervention planning.
- Apply the Multi-Tiered System of Support framework to provide proactive, tiered interventions that support students'' academic, behavioral, and emotional development.
- Facilitate smooth transitions for students entering the Alternative Education Program and returning to their home schools.
- Deliver comprehensive professional development to staff responsible for implementing behavioral plans to ensure consistency and fidelity.
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners to collaboratively support student success.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by school administration.
