Summary

As an Art Teacher in the Florence Unified School District, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing the creative talents of our students, fostering a love for artistic expression, and ensuring that art education is accessible to all. Essential Functions

• Implement a comprehensive, inclusive, and diverse art curriculum that aligns with state and district standards, fostering creativity, self-expression, and cultural appreciation according to the grade level of the students being taught
• Plan and deliver engaging art lessons that encourage students to explore various art forms, develop their artistic skills, and build confidence.
• Use various assessment strategies to monitor and evaluate students' artistic development, providing constructive feedback and support for growth.
• Maintain a safe and organized art studio environment, adhering to safety guidelines and best practices.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, sharing insights into students' progress and achievements in the course.
• Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay informed about education trends, teaching strategies, and curriculum enhancements in the content area.
• Creates a classroom environment that is not only safe but also nurturing and conducive to both individualized and small group instruction, thereby fostering a sense of belonging where every student can flourish.

Equipment

• Use standard office equipment such as a personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, telephone.
• Use Art medium such as paint, drawing supplies, pencils, charcoals, pastels, sculpture material, textile arts, collage materials, some digital materials, depending on the age group of students.

Travel Requirements

Limited travel to and from meetings may be required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• Valid state teaching certification in Art Education.
• Proficiency in various art forms and techniques.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for promoting artistic expression and self-discovery among students.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
• Valid Arizona Teaching certificate

Clearances

• Measles/Mumps/Rubella Immunity/Vaccination
• Valid I-9 form
• AZ Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Working Environment:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands; the employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary commensurate with education and experience for this position

188 day new teacher contract - per work calendar for this position

186 returning teacher contract - per the work calendar for this position
