Job Description:

LEAP Academy University Charter School is seeking an experienced, highly qualified, passionate, and dedicated Elementary Art Teacher to inspire creativity and foster a lifelong appreciation for the visual arts. The ideal candidate will create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment where students develop artistic skills, critical thinking, and self-expression through standards-aligned instruction. This educator will be committed to supporting the academic, social, and creative growth of every student while collaborating with colleagues, families, and school leadership to promote student success.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
• New Jersey teaching certification for the content area. (CE, CEAS, Standard)
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Strong knowledge of current instructional strategies, educational best practices, and differentiated teaching methods that support diverse learning styles.
• Thorough understanding of visual arts curriculum, artistic techniques, and age-appropriate instructional practices.
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies related to education and student services.
• Proficiency in using computers, educational technology, learning management systems, and instructional software to support teaching and classroom management.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional growth through self-reflection, professional development, and implementation of best practices.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and school leadership while contributing to a positive, team-oriented school culture.
• Passion for fostering creativity, artistic expression, and student achievement in an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Terms of Employment:

2026/2027 10-month contracted position

Salary Range: Starting at $60,000
