    DESCRIPTION

    Madison District Public Schools is seeking a dedicated, student-centered instructional leader to serve as the Assistant Principal at Madison Elementary School. The successful candidate will foster a positive school culture, support high-quality teaching and learning, build strong relationships with students, staff, and families, and assist the principal in the daily operation of the school.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Valid Michigan School Administrator Certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
    • Master's degree in Educational Leadership or a related field.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience; administrative experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of elementary curriculum, instructional best practices, assessment, and school improvement.
    • Strong understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and restorative practices.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze student achievement data to improve instruction.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
    • Experience working with diverse student populations and fostering an inclusive school environment.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist the principal in providing instructional leadership that promotes academic excellence and student achievement.
    • Support teacher growth through classroom observations, coaching, and the evaluation process.
    • Help develop and implement school improvement initiatives aligned with district goals.
    • Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
    • Support student discipline using restorative and positive behavior practices.
    • Monitor student attendance and work collaboratively to improve attendance outcomes.
    • Analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions and interventions.
    • Coordinate building assessments, testing, and reporting requirements.
    • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and district administrators to meet the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students.
    • Build strong partnerships with families and communicate effectively with the school community.
    • Assist with scheduling, supervision, and daily building operations.
    • Support emergency preparedness and implementation of the district Emergency Operations Plan.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
