Elementary Assistant Principal

Building Level Principal, Director of Elementary Education

Qualifications:

TN Teaching License with current Administrative Endorsement

5 years successful teaching experience

Preference for certification/degree in curriculum, instruction or leadership

& successful leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Effectively supervises and coordinates the design, implementation, training, and monitoring for a district-wide Curriculum Programs & Special Projects

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  1. Coordinate the implementation, training, and monitoring of district-wide curriculum programs and special projects.
  1. Communicate & maintain positive rapport and positive working environment with principals, staff, and the public.
  1. Assimilate, analyze, and interpret any necessary district data and provide recommendations to various district and school leaders.
  1. Provide expertise and training based on experience and current research.
  1. Lead and develop practices/protocols to implement district/state curriculum projects/initiatives.
  1. Participate in ongoing personal professional development to remain current on curricular & instructional theory, research, and trends.
  1. Monitor district and school AMO and gap-closure targets, and provide recommendations to district and school leaders.
  1. Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Schools, Director of Elementary Education, and/or Director of Secondary Education.

Standard office equipment, including a personal computer

Frequent sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing,/pulling, and twisting

Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); occasional physical restraint of students to control behavior

Environment:

May work prolonged or irregular hours; work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather), exposure to noise

Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
