      • POSITIONS OPEN UNTIL FILLED FOR THE 2026 - 2027 SCHOOL YEAR LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCED, CREDENTIALED MUSIC TEACHERS TO WORK AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS * BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Elementary Itinerant Music Teacher provides standards-based general music instruction for students in Transitional Kindergarten through Grade 6 at multiple assigned school sites. The teacher develops and implements a comprehensive, sequential music program aligned with the California Arts Standards that fosters creativity, collaboration, cultural responsiveness, and a lifelong appreciation for music. The teacher travels between school sites, collaborates with site administrators and classroom teachers, and provides engaging musical experiences that support the academic and social-emotional development of all students. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Credentials Valid California Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in Music (Single Education: Subject Music or appropriate Multiple Subject with Music authorization). Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred). Experience: Successful teaching experience in elementary music education preferred. Personal Demonstrates professionalism, positive rapport, and strong communication Qualities: skills; Ability to relate effectively with students, parents, administrators, and staff; Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching practices; Ability to meet district standards for physical and mental health Desirable Experience with Orff, Kodály, Music Learning Theory, or similar pedagogical approaches; Professional Experience directing elementary ensembles (band preferred, ukulele, guitar, recorder; Experience: Ability to integrate technology into music instruction.
