Job Title: Library Media Specialist
Location: Manitowoc, Wisconsin
Reports To: Building Principal and Director of Elementary Curriculum & Instruction
Position Summary
The Library Media Specialist is responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the development and implementation of the school library program. This role involves collaborating with teachers, administrators, and students to support the instructional goals of the school, promote information literacy, and cultivate a love of reading and learning. This will be for our 4 Elementary Sites.

Bachelor's degree, including or enrolled in all courses to meet credential requirements.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Wisconsin DPI license. Licensure of 1902 - Library Media Specialist License

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to loud depending upon the activity in the particular part of the day.
The demands of extended work days (coverage of building activities and extracurricular activities, etc.) requires a high level of physical endurance. This job requires the ability to handle and balance multiple demands at the same time.
Language Skills
Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions, including procedures, safety guidelines, and district policies. Ability to complete basic written communication such as reports, logs, or correspondence as required by the position. Ability to communicate effectively with administrators, staff, students, and the public, and respond appropriately to questions or concerns. Demonstrates clear and respectful communication in both verbal and written forms. Performs all duties in accordance with district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect/analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
