NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION: Elementary Literacy & Numeracy Tutor / 25.00 hours per week

LOCATION: Flanders Elementary School

SALARY: $25.00 per hour (Non-union / No Benefits) Grant Funded

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

• To provide academic support for students requiring extra help in the areas of reading and mathematics.
• Instruction and support will be in small groups or with individual students working in collaboration with the classroom teacher and specialist.
• Assist in the assessment and monitoring and documentation of assigned students.
• Participate in appropriate professional development and training in the area and components of literacy support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• CT State Certification preferred.
• Proficient in working in focused, time-efficient and organized manner.
• Experience in literacy/mathematics work with small groups and / or one on one instruction.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Work collaboratively with literacy specialist and classroom teacher.
• Experience preferred.
