The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School District is seeking an innovative, full-time Art Teacher beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. At this time, this position is approximately 35% middle school art and 65% elementary art.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Wisconsin teaching license.
- Strong knowledge of child development and instructional best practices at both the elementary and middle school levels.
- Familiarity with PBIS and trauma-informed teaching for supporting social-emotional development in learners.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to family engagement.
- Willingness to actively participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to collaborate with colleagues, analyze student data, and enhance instructional practices.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons that support academic standards, artistic behaviors, and social-emotional growth.
- Design and facilitate a studio-based art environment (such as TAB/Choice-Based Art) that empowers students to take ownership of their creative process, explore diverse mediums, and develop independent artistic inquiry.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to ensure student success.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with families, providing regular communication, resources, and opportunities for involvement in their child's education.
- Actively engage in PLCs to reflect on student learning, share best practices, and continuously improve instruction.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adapting instruction to meet individual needs.
- Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives aligned with our school and district goals.
