Description

Elementary/Middle School Principal

The Elementary/Middle School Principal will provide leadership in developing and implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member. The Elementary/Middle School Principal will provide instructional leadership in coordination with other administrators, striving for superior performance so as to provide the best possible opportunities for student growth and development, both educationally and personally. The Elementary/Middle School Principal conceptualizes and communicates the broad goals of the district and plans accordingly to ensure that procedures and schedules are implemented to carry out those goals.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Must hold or be eligible for Wisconsin Principal Licensure

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a teaching position

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate strong organizational and problem solving skills while prioritizing within deadlines

  • Maintain a sense of humor including flexibility by exhibiting positive attitude to support the work of the District

  • Work independently, self-motivated, creative and versatile with minimal supervision

  • Establish effective working relationships with students, staff, surrounding communities and the Board

  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Maintain confidentiality of all staff and students

  • Possess working understanding of basic computer/software operations

  • Possesses a solid understanding of federal, state and local mandates

  • Familiarity with best practices in: Response to Intervention, team teaching in an inclusive environment, teacher collaboration, formative and summative assessments, and professional development

Other Responsibilities of the Position

  • Contribute to District Continuous Improvement planning

  • Follow procedures and requirements of ESEA

  • Assist in Grant Applications

Professionalism

  • Be involved with, and provide leadership in, professional organizations, state and local government, and the business community to strengthen the mission and vision of the School District of Wausaukee

  • Keep abreast of current literature and research in the field of education

  • Serve as a leader in educational professional organizations

  • Participate in business and civic organizations and serves in leadership roles, whenever possible

  • Contribute to the profession by writing and speaking

  • Participate in local, state, and national professional organizations

  • Anticipate and address staff development needs, based on formal and informal data

  • Maintain visibility in the community and be responsive to community members
