This position will be .5 Multi-Lingual Learners Teacher and .5 Title Interventionist at Madison Elementary.

Multi-Lingual Teacher Position Purpose: To help students learn in the 4 modalities of English, content, and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women. To help ELLs through their acculturation process.

Title Interventionist Position Purpose: This position is supported by Title I, Part A funds, which are intended to provide students with opportunities to obtain a high-quality education and reach proficiency on challenging state academic standards. The candidate will enhance existing educational services by supplementing the instructional program with the goal of increasing student achievement in alignment with the school's comprehensive needs assessment. This position is in addition to the district-assigned FTE for classroom teachers as a strategy to intensify student feedback and instruction in an identified need area.

Multi-Lingual Teacher Responsibilities:

Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, students and families.

Teaches District approved curriculum.

Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.

Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.

Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.

Establishes and maintains standards of classroom behavior.

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to students.

Diagnoses the learning styles, cultural preferences, and strengths and challenges of all students.

Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.

Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.

Serves as case manager, including writing ILPs, facilitating ACCESS testing, and advising regular ed staff.

Participate in all mandatory training or training appropriate to the position as required by the district.

Ensures a safe, pleasant, and effective educational atmosphere, provides discipline as necessary, and enforces school policy.

Title Interventionist Responsibilities:

Holds caseload of all Title I students

Pulls out or assists students in the classroom with supplementary instruction beyond the classroom instruction.

Pre-teachers or re-teaches vocabulary words or math concepts to be covered.

Evaluates the progress of all Title I students and designs and prepares student progress reports.

Prescribes the lessons that the students will work on during Title I time.

Performs all student selection requirements including testing and making the final lists of students selected for Title I participation.

Schedules the parent meeting, writes up the parent survey, and finds parent-training tools.

Schedules the annual review meeting, coordinates the meeting, and communicates with parents regarding its results.

Communicates regularly with classroom teachers regarding classroom instruction and needs of the Title I students. Title I teachers should keep written documentation of this communication.

Develops Title I lesson plans.

Serves as a resource person within their Title I building.

Keep abreast of current best practice in reading/math instruction.

Participate in all mandatory training or training appropriate to the position as required by the district.

Ensures a safe, pleasant, and effective educational atmosphere, provides discipline as necessary, and enforces school policy.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Arts degree.

ND Teaching License with Bilingual/ESL Endorsement or Plan on File to acquire ESL within 2 years of hire.

Must be highly qualified according to No Child Left Behind and hold a reading/math certificate. Two to five years of teaching experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two to three years teaching experience

Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations
