Job Description

Performing Arts Specialist (K–8)

Music, Production & Communication

About Fairmont Anaheim Hills

Fairmont Anaheim Hills is a thriving independent school serving Preschool through Grade 8. We are known for strong academics, meaningful relationships, and a culture that encourages students to discover their talents, find their voices, and contribute to their community.

As our Performing Arts program continues to grow, we are seeking an educator who is excited to help shape its future.

The Opportunity

This position offers a unique opportunity to help build a dynamic K–8 Performing Arts program alongside an accomplished Drama Teacher. We are looking for an educator whose strengths may include music, technical theatre, production, choreography, stagecraft, vocal performance, or contemporary performance experiences.

Beyond performance itself, we believe the arts play a powerful role in helping students develop confidence, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills. Through classroom experiences and public performances, students learn not only how to perform, but how to present ideas, speak with confidence, and engage audiences.

The successful candidate will bring expertise, imagination, and a willingness to create new opportunities for students while helping us continue to expand a vibrant culture of performance across our campus.

Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging K–8 performing arts classes that inspire creativity, confidence, and self-expression.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop performances, productions, showcases, and special events.

  • Help students develop strong communication and presentation skills through performance, voice, movement, and public speaking.

  • Contribute to the technical and production elements that bring performances to life.

  • Help shape and expand performing arts opportunities based on student interests and talents.

  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues while contributing to the life of the school.

Qualifications

We welcome candidates with diverse performing arts backgrounds. Experience in one or more of the following areas is particularly valuable:

  • Music instruction or vocal performance

  • Technical theatre, sound, lighting, or stage management

  • Choreography or movement

  • Musical theatre production

  • Contemporary music, band, choir, or ensemble leadership

  • Public speaking, speech, or communication training

Most importantly, we seek educators who are collaborative, student-centered, creative, and excited by the opportunity to build programs that make a lasting impact.

Why Fairmont?

You will work with engaged students, supportive colleagues, and school leaders who value initiative and new ideas. If you are energized by building programs, producing memorable student experiences, and helping young people discover their voices, we would love to hear from you.
