Summary

Willow Ridge Elementary is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Music Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. The ideal candidate will inspire a love for music in students while fostering creativity and self-expression. This full-time position requires a commitment to developing a comprehensive music program that caters to diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring a positive and engaging environment for all students.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a dynamic music curriculum for elementary students that aligns with state standards and promotes musical literacy.

  • Teach a variety of musical concepts, including rhythm, melody, harmony, and music appreciation, through engaging lessons and activities.

  • Organize and conduct school performances, concerts, and other musical events to showcase students' talents and learning.

  • Assess and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their musical development.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate music into other subject areas and enhance the overall educational experience.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and respect for diverse musical backgrounds.

  • Maintain an organized and well-equipped music classroom, including the care of instruments and teaching materials.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and musical achievements.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in music education and pedagogy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field.

  • Valid teaching certification in Music Education for elementary education.

  • Proven experience teaching music to elementary-aged students, preferably in a classroom setting.

  • Strong knowledge of music theory, vocal and instrumental techniques, and various musical genres.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.

  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

  • Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments is preferred.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and collaboration with colleagues.
