Summary
Willow Ridge Elementary is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Music Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. The ideal candidate will inspire a love for music in students while fostering creativity and self-expression. This full-time position requires a commitment to developing a comprehensive music program that caters to diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring a positive and engaging environment for all students.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a dynamic music curriculum for elementary students that aligns with state standards and promotes musical literacy.
Teach a variety of musical concepts, including rhythm, melody, harmony, and music appreciation, through engaging lessons and activities.
Organize and conduct school performances, concerts, and other musical events to showcase students' talents and learning.
Assess and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their musical development.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate music into other subject areas and enhance the overall educational experience.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and respect for diverse musical backgrounds.
Maintain an organized and well-equipped music classroom, including the care of instruments and teaching materials.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and musical achievements.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in music education and pedagogy.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field.
Valid teaching certification in Music Education for elementary education.
Proven experience teaching music to elementary-aged students, preferably in a classroom setting.
Strong knowledge of music theory, vocal and instrumental techniques, and various musical genres.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments is preferred.
Commitment to ongoing professional growth and collaboration with colleagues.
