Elementary Music Teacher

Salisbury Elementary School seeks an enthusiastic, engaging, and dynamic elementary music teacher who is responsible for teaching music education to students in grades preschool through six. The music teacher will help students grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of music through explicit instruction and planned musical experiences, and will help develop each student''s musical expression and talent. This will include the instruction of listening activities, playing instruments, singing, dancing and movement, and other instructional opportunities for students to engage with the musical and performing arts. Applicants should have knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, including differentiated instruction based on students'' developmental levels, learning styles, and needs and strong classroom management techniques.

Expectations and Responsibilities Include:

• Weekly music instruction to all classes in grades PK-6.
• Director of grade-wide choral groups in grades 4-6.
• Grade 3 curriculum includes teaching the recorder.
• Teaching instrumental lessons to Beginner Band students, and conducting the NES Beginner Band.
• Stipend position for the direction of 1 select choir group that meets outside of the school day.
• Other duties: Various assemblies, Winter Concert, Spring Concert, Halloween Parade, Holiday Sing Along.

Applicants should have knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, including differentiated instruction based on students'' developmental levels, learning styles, an ability to meet students'' social-emotional needs, trauma-informed instruction, and strong classroom management techniques
