Sheboygan Leadership Academy is accepting applications for an elementary educational assistant for the 2026-27

school year, with the possibility of continuing into future school years. This is a part time position consisting of 5 to

6.5 hours per school day Monday through Friday starting at 7:30 am. This position mainly supports third through

fifth grade, but has contact with all grades daily, and includes recess and lunch duties. This is an excellent

opportunity for someone who is looking for part time employment, in the school setting, working with children.

Educational assistants are imperative to the success of our school program, helping to support the needs of our

students and getting to participate directly in their growth and achievement.

Sheboygan Leadership Academy is a non-instrumentality public charter school in Sheboygan. Employees of

Sheboygan Leadership Academy are not employees of the Sheboygan Area School District; however Sheboygan

Leadership Academy offers a competitive benefit package through a partnership with CESA 7. Sheboygan

Leadership Academy is open to students in grades 4K through grade 8.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have an Associate's Degree or 48 college credits; or be willing to take and achieve a

passing score on the Praxis ParaPro Assessment

Responsibilities:

  • Work one-on-one with small groups of children
  • Work one-on-one with individual students
  • Support learning by "floating" and acting as additional support during class activities or lessons
  • Help prepare classroom for lessons/activities
  • Assist with clean up and organization
  • Assist at school outings or at school events
  • Assist with photo copying and preparing materials for lessons/activities
  • Assist with the movement of children throughout the building
  • Assist in keeping children on task
  • Assist in supervising all activities to ensure safety of each child at all times/administer first aid as needed
  • Assist in managing student behavior

Employment Terms:

  • The rate of pay for this position starts at $16.00 per hour and may be raised depending on experience
