Position Details
Reports to: Director for Elementary Education
Education and/or Experience:
- MDE Teacher Certification is required.
- MDE Administrator Certification is required.
- Master's degree in education or educational leadership or related field.
- Has completed 5 or more years of successful elementary classroom teaching experience.
- Has previous dynamic school leadership experience.
- Has previous school improvement leadership experience.
- Prior experience as an administrator of a school building preferred.
Primary Purpose:
Provides instructional leadership to staff including curriculum planning, review and implementation of professional development. Responsible for day-to-day building administration and the safety and welfare of both students and staff, and activities. Ensures a safe, pleasant and effective educational atmosphere, creates and maintains a positive school culture and climate, and enforces school policy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the management and administrative daily operations of the school, ensuring scal compliance with district policies and regulations.
- Responsible for supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Interacts and collaborates with students, parents, and the community to build a school environment that maximizes student learning, academic performance, and social growth.
- Creates a stable, smooth-functioning educational organization by establishing and maintaining an environment of mutual trust and respect through supportive leadership.
- Develops or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure an ecient and safe operation of the school.
- Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short- and long-range planning; develops and implements projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
