APPLICANTS: APPLICATION FOR THIS POSITION MUST BE COMPLETED VIA APPLITRACK HERE Job Title: Elementary Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities Strategic Instructional Leadership: Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of efforts related to student academic achievement, including reducing achievement gaps. Build a common vision and execute a strategic plan that increases student achievement and drives instructional excellence. School Improvement & Planning: Ensure the school meets or makes satisfactory progress toward both the District Strategic Plan and Comprehensive School Improvement Plan goals. Operational & Fiscal Management: Manage school fiscal, physical, and personnel resources to support optimal instruction. Ensure the school program is compatible with the legal, financial, and organizational structure of the school system. Staff Development & Supervision: Supervise and evaluate school staff, modeling District standards of ethics and professionalism. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, and resolving employee complaints. Community Advocacy: Serve as the schools advocate and maintain regular, persuasive communication with all stakeholders, including employees, parents, students, and community groups. Learning Management: Effectively implement and manage online curriculum platforms, digital assessment tools & platforms, and Learning Management Systems (LMS) to support student learning, track instructional consistency, and monitor progress. Other duties as assigned. Core Leadership Skills & Competencies Evidence-Based Decision Making: Expertly utilize quantitative data (e.g., student performance, attendance, behavioral metrics) and qualitative insights (e.g., staff feedback, community voice) to inform strategy, reconcile conflicting information, and render timely, fair, and objective decisions. Emotional Discernment: Demonstrate a proven ability to remain grounded and composed during emotionally charged incidents, decoupling intense emotions from the problem-solving process to ensure actions are consistent, professional, and aligned with district policies and practices. Language & Technical Literacy: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents (safety regulations, operating manuals, and legal procedures), ability to compose clear, professional reports, strategic correspondence, and data summaries, ability to speak effectively and persuasively before diverse audiences, including employees, parents, students, and community stakeholders. Strategic Data Interpretation: Analyze and interpret complex datasets- including standardized test results, attendance patterns, and behavioral trends to identify achievement gaps and drive targeted school improvement strategies. Quantitative & Technical Proficiency: Apply mathematical concepts (e.g., proportions, percentages, interest, area, volume, algebra, and geometry) for budget management and facility planning. Maintain advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software to organize and report on school-wide metrics. Education, Certification, and Licensure Licensure: Applicable Indiana Administration and Supervision license. Education: Masters degree. Experience: A minimum of three years of teaching experience and experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
