The School District of Jefferson is seeking a 1.0 FTE ELL Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year. We are seeking a dynamic educator to assess, instruct, and develop students' academic skills. The teacher will have the ability to co-plan, co-teach and collaborate with other instructors to follow state guidelines and use best practices to support students. The successful candidate will be a student advocate and have the ability to effectively respond to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding the instructional program and student progress. The candidate must hold a Bachelor of Science degree and an English as a Second Language License #1395, or be willing to work toward acheiving this license. Candidates eligible for emergency licensure will be considered. The ability to speak and write in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-plan to co-serve students in Tier I instruction
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide individualized and small group instruction by adapting the district-approved curriculum to the needs of each pupil
  • Establish and maintain rapport with pupils to ensure an effective learning atmosphere
  • Evaluate pupils'' academic and social growth, keeping appropriate records in a timely fashion in order to prepare progress reports
  • Effectively communicate with parents in various ways (i.e. website, newsletters, phone calls, e-mails, conferences)
  • Work in a supportive and collaborative manner with colleagues and supervisors
  • Maintain and improve professional skills by participating in building and department meetings, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars in an effort to stay current with best teaching practices
  • Establish a safe and positive learning environment.
