The School District of Beloit Turner is a comprehensive PreK-12 district serving more than 1,650 students in south-central Wisconsin. We are known as a district of choice with more than 33% of our student body represented by students who open enroll into our highly desired district.

We are a small to midsize sub-urban/rural setting with 3 main campuses. Powers Elementary serves our early grades (EC and 4K-1st). Garden Prairie Intermediate School serves grades 2 through 5. Our middle school and high school have a shared main campus serving grades 6-8 in Turner Middle School and grades 9-12 in the Turner High School. Powers Elementary School is seeking a building secretary to serve as the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors. This position plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment while ensuring the efficient daily operation of the school through exceptional customer service, organization, confidentiality, and communication.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and other communications.

  • Maintain student records, attendance, enrollment, and other confidential information in accordance with district policies and applicable laws.

  • Assist the principal with scheduling, correspondence, reports, and administrative tasks.

  • Coordinate daily attendance procedures and communicate attendance concerns with families as needed.

  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain school communications, forms, and notices.

  • Process purchase orders, invoices, deposits, and other financial records as assigned.

  • Coordinate substitute teacher requests and maintain staff absence records.

  • Assist with student registrations, transfers, and withdrawals.

  • Support school events, meetings, and activities by coordinating logistics and preparing materials.

  • Provide basic first aid to students and maintain health office records, as required by district procedures.

  • Monitor students sent to the office for breaks, discipline, or other administrative reasons.

  • Operate standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, and multi-line telephone systems.

  • Maintain confidentiality of students, personnel, and district information

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or district administration.
