    Job Title: Elementary School Teacher

    Job Summary:
    The Elementary School Teacher provides high-quality instruction to students in grades PreK–5 in accordance with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Learning Standards. The teacher fosters academic excellence, social-emotional growth, and positive citizenship while creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. The teacher collaborates with families, administrators, intervention specialists, and support staff to ensure student success.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with Ohio Learning Standards.
    • Utilize evidence-based instructional practices to improve student achievement.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Section 504 Plans, English Learners (ELs), and gifted students.
    • Administer and prepare students for Ohio state assessments, including Ohio's State Tests, as required.
    • Use assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies.
    • Implement Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and intervention strategies when appropriate.
    • Create a positive classroom culture that promotes student engagement, responsibility, and respect.
    • Establish and maintain effective classroom management practices.
    • Integrate instructional technology into classroom instruction.
    • Maintain accurate student records, attendance, grades, and documentation in accordance with district and state requirements.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and academic performance.
    • Collaborate with grade-level teams, intervention specialists, school counselors, and administrators.
    • Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), faculty meetings, and ongoing professional development.
    • Supervise students during school activities, lunch, recess, field trips, arrival, and dismissal.
    • Maintain confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA and district policies.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from an accredited institution.
    • Valid Ohio Resident Educator, Professional, or Senior Professional Educator License for Elementary Education issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
    • Current criminal background check meeting Ohio requirements (BCI and FBI).
    • Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards and Ohio's assessment system.
    • Strong instructional planning, classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to effectively use educational technology and student information systems.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Education or a related field.
    • Experience implementing MTSS, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), or Response to Intervention (RTI).
    • Experience with literacy instruction aligned to Ohio's Science of Reading requirements.
    • Reading Endorsement or ESOL endorsement preferred.
    • Experience working with diverse student populations.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the school day.
    • Ability to lift instructional materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
    • Ability to supervise students in classrooms, playgrounds, cafeterias, and during school activities.

    Work Environment

    • Public elementary school setting.
    • Regular collaboration with teachers, administrators, specialists, parents, and community partners.
    • Participation in after-school meetings, parent conferences, professional development, and school events as required.
