Elementary Special Education Teacher - Des Plaines, IL

The assignment spans from early October 2026 through June 2027, with a weekly full-time schedule of 35 to 37 hours.

In this role, you'll serve a caseload of six elementary students—with the possibility of accommodating one additional student—delivering individualized support and working alongside general education teachers to ensure student success in an inclusive classroom environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active PEL with LBS1 endorsement required
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the elementary level
• Proven ability to adapt instruction and lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and encouraging classroom community

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-teach in a 5th grade classroom, developing and implementing effective instructional strategies for students with special needs
• Participate in collaborative planning with general educators and related service providers

• Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines regarding special education services
