Note: All staff are hired by Milford School District rather than a specific building. While this opening is currently at the location listed above, final placement is subject to change based on district staffing needs.
Position Summary: The Special Education Teacher serves as the lead teacher and primary case manager within a self-contained setting, providing specialized instruction, individualized supports, and behavioral strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities. The teacher designs and delivers differentiated, standards-based instruction aligned with grade-level and/or alternate standards while addressing students' academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional needs.
The teacher develops and monitors IEP goals, instructional strategies, and MTSS-aligned supports to promote student engagement, independence, and academic growth. Responsibilities include data collection, progress monitoring, collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the implementation of accommodations, modifications, and specially designed instruction to support student success.

Terms of Employment: Ten-month (10) full-time employee.

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually according to the Board's policy on professional personnel evaluation.
