    Teacher Role Description

    Specific Responsibilities:

    PRIORITY I. Instructional Responsibilities

    a. Plan instruction consistent with District approved curriculum for assigned subject area(s)/grade level(s).

    b. Plan and organize work in a manner to meet the needs of individual students.

    c. Prepare for assigned classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.

    d. Plan effective use of instructional time.

    e. Provide an environment that is conducive to learning.

    f. Direct and evaluate the learning experiences of students in curricular activities.

    g. Recognize and seek supportive help for students with special abilities or needs in accordance with District guidelines.

    h. Maintain positive rapport with students and parents.

    i. Provide an environment which fosters student health and safety.

    j. Maintain the records necessary for the efficient operation of the educational program.

    k. Assist in preparation of the budget.

    l. Maintain an awareness of current trends in education through professional developmental activities.

    m. Actively participates in Supervision/Evaluation Program.

    n. Implement and support District Policies.

    o. Maintain up-to-date knowledge in content area through professional developmental activities.

    PRIORITY II. Professional Responsibilities to District/profession

    a. Participate in the planning and evaluation of the schools'' instructional program.

    b. Maintain productive working relationships with colleagues.

    c. Assist in the selection and requisition of books, instructional materials, and supplies.

    d. Implements new classroom procedure techniques reflectively.

    e. Contributes to the professional development of others.

    PRIORITY III. Ancillary Services

    a. Maintain positive rapport with community.

    b. Encourage participation in and assist with school activities.

    c. Provide necessary care and management of equipment, materials, and facilities.

    d. Direct and evaluate the learning experiences of students in co-curricular activities.
