The East Troy Community School District is a great place to learn and a great place to work! We are looking to add to our outstanding team of educators at ETCSD by hiring a 1.0 FTE Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2026-27 school year.
At ETCSD, we are committed to supporting our educators through a robust New-to-ETCSD Educator Program, mentorship opportunities, and collaborative professional learning environments. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to:
- Design and implement specially designed instruction for students in grades 3-5 with IEPs who are eligible for special education services
- Support and develop practices reflective of the District's Personalized Learning philosophy
- Collaborate within a Professional Learning Community (PLC) to promote continued student growth and achievement
- Design and implement special education programming using content knowledge, Wisconsin State Standards/Alternative Standards, student data, and evidence-based instructional practices
- Administer and interpret standardized assessments as part of special education evaluations and use assessment data to guide instruction
- Support students with autism, developmental and/or intellectual disabilities, and social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Design and implement positive behavior interventions and supports
- Utilize co-teaching and inclusive instructional practices to support students in the least restrictive environment
- Serve as a member of IEP teams by conducting evaluations, developing and implementing IEPs, managing caseload responsibilities, and ensuring compliance with special education timelines and legal requirements
- Collaborate effectively with families, general education staff, related service providers, and support staff
- Coordinate and supervise paraprofessionals working with students
- Demonstrate knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to FERPA, HIPAA, and all applicable state and federal regulations
- Uphold the highest professional and ethical standards
Qualifications
- Valid Wisconsin DPI Special Education licensure required
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills preferred
