Elementary Special Education Teacher

The Bruce School District is looking for a full-time upper Elementary Special Education Teacher. The position requires a current Wisconsin DPI Special Education License (DPI #1801) or willingness to get the certification. Candidates with specific categorical licenses (e.g., LD, ID, EBD) who are willing to obtain Cross-Categorical certification are encouraged to apply.

The Bruce School District is a student-centered school district. The district is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Hills Recreation Area. There are outdoor opportunities abound with fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, tubing and any other outdoor activities you wish to take part.

Our starting teacher salary with a Bachelor of Arts degree is $42,000 and a Master of Arts degree is $45,000, negotiable. The district health insurance plan adds $1500 single / $3000 family to your HSA and pays 88% of the premium. Once the deductible is met, we pay 100% of health costs.

• Family $261.46 / month premium / $6600 deductible / $8600 out of pocket max

Employees are eligible for free dental and long - term disability insurance. We do offer cash in lieu of insurance at $350 per month for a single plan and $700 per month for a family plan, which is one of the more generous cash in lieu offerings anywhere.

We offer employees longevity bonuses beginning at 3 years of service as well as a prorated stipend for unused sick / personal time each year of up to $1000.

Our time off comes in the form of 10 Sick Days and 2 Personal Days per year. You can "sell" back up to 100 days of accrued sick leave at $120 per day upon retirement.
