Quitman County School District is seeking a highly motivated and student-centered Elementary Education Teacher to join our instructional team for the 2026–2027 school year. This position plays a critical role in advancing the district's commitment to academic excellence by providing high-quality, standards-based instruction in a supportive and engaging learning environment.
The selected candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering both the academic achievement and social-emotional development of elementary students. This role requires an educator who is intentional in planning, skilled in delivery, and responsive to the diverse needs of learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that supports student mastery of grade-level expectations
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes student engagement and accountability
- Utilize data (e.g., formative assessments, district benchmarks, and state assessments) to inform instructional decisions
- Implement differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including small group instruction
- Establish clear learning targets and success criteria aligned to state standards
- Collaborate with instructional staff, academic coaches, and leadership to strengthen teaching practices
- Maintain consistent communication with students, parents, and stakeholders regarding student progress
- Support the development of the whole child, including social, emotional, and behavioral growth
Qualifications
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid teaching certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission in Elementary Education
- Strong knowledge of elementary instructional practices and student development
- Demonstrated ability to use data to drive instruction and improve student outcomes
- Effective classroom management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
