SUMMARY:

The Elementary Classroom Teacher is responsible for creating a positive, engaging learning environment that supports student growth and development. They design and deliver differentiated lessons aligned with district and state standards, assess student progress, and maintain accurate records. The teacher fosters strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, collaborates to address student needs, and participates in professional development. Their role is crucial in promoting academic achievement, social growth, and a safe, organized classroom environment.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Valid certificate/license issued by the Colorado Department of Education.
• Appropriate endorsement for the teaching assignment.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

• Instructional Skills: Ability to guide the learning process toward the achievement of state and local standards, design and implement lesson plans, and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.

• Assessment: Proficiency in administering group assessments, maintaining accurate records, and evaluating students' academic and social growth.

• Classroom Management: Ability to create and maintain an environment conducive to learning, develop classroom behavior rules, and ensure fair and just order in the classroom.

• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to engage with parents and encourage their involvement in their child's education.

• Collaboration: Ability to work with other professional staff members to address student health, attitude, and learning problems, as well as participate in curriculum development and committee work.

• Record Keeping and Documentation: Ability to maintain required attendance, academic records, and any other necessary documentation as per district and state guidelines.
