JOB TITLE: Elementary Teacher

POSITION TYPE: Exempt (Salaried)

LOCATION: Gibraltar School District (Elementary Building TBD)

DAYS AND HOURS: According to the GEA Master Agreement

CURRENT WAGE: According to GEA Master Agreement

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

EVALUATION: Annual Evaluation by Principal

Qualifications:

• Valid and current Michigan Teaching Certificate required with an elementary teaching endorsement/certification appropriate for grades K5
• Such allowable alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, implement and document high quality instruction, assessments, and interventions to meet the needs of all students
• Honor and carry out district initiatives, professional development, and curriculum
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration
• Participate in a Professional Learning Community setting by collaborating regularly with team of teachers, special area teachers and special education teachers
• Integrate technology effectively in a variety of forms on a daily basis as appropriate
• Maintain consistent attendance and report to work on time as expected
• Attend all meetings and professional development required for this position
• Complete assigned tasks, reports, and other requirements on time
• Exhibit a positive demeanor and support a positive work environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk over extended periods of time
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a work day, and to sit/stand several times in short periods of time.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy items.
