The School District of Shiocton is seeking an energetic, dynamic, student-centered and innovative teacher to join our elementary team beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. The anticipated opening is currently at the second grade level.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A passion for working with elementary students and the ability to establish a positive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment resulting in high levels of academic achievement, individual student growth, and collective social/emotional development
  • Strong ability to provide developmentally-appropriate curriculum and instruction to school-age children, including those with disabilities in keeping with their Individual Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Solid understanding of the Wisconsin Academic Standards
  • Strong background teaching mathematics
  • Strong understanding and background in teaching using the Science of Reading (phonological and phonemic awareness, phonics, etc.)
  • Understanding of WI Act 20 screening and personal reading plans
  • Experience with Handwriting Without Tears
  • Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students and their families
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Understanding of Conscious Discipline strategies and Restorative practices
  • Understanding of Wisconsin''s Equitable Multi-Level Systems of Support (EMLSS)
  • Commitment to life-long learning and their own professional growth and development
  • Effective skills with data collection, data analysis, and technology integration

Applicants must possess or have the ability to be licensed for a Wisconsin DPI License - Elementary/Middle School Education (1088, 1083), Regular Education (1777). Salary is commensurate with background, education, and experience.
