Elementary Teacher - Grade 3 (Leave Replacement) JobID: 1760 Position Type: Elementary School Teaching/Primary - Grades 1, 2, 3Date Posted: 9/25/2026Location: Cedar Hill Elementary SchoolDate Available: Immediately Closing Date: Until Filled Additional Information: Show/HidePOSITION: Third Grade Teacher Leave ReplacementLOCATION: Cedar Hill Elementary SchoolREPORTS TO: Building Principal / Superintendent of SchoolsPOSITION DATES: September 28, 2026 about December 23, 2026 JOB SUMMARY:The Montville Township Public School District is seeking a qualified educator to serve as a Third Grade Teacher Leave Replacement at Cedar Hill Elementary School for the period ofSeptember 28, 2026 through about December 23, 2026 The successful candidate will provide instruction and supervision for third-grade students and will be responsible for planning and delivering standards-based instruction, assessing student learning, maintaining a positive and supportive classroom environment, communicating with families and staff, and carrying out other professional responsibilities associated with the assigned teaching position.The successful candidate will work collaboratively with building administrators, teachers, support staff, and families to support student achievement and social-emotional development.QUALIFICATIONS:Valid New Jersey instructional certification appropriate for the assignment, including a New Jersey Elementary School K-6 (1001) or Preschool through Grade 3 (1013) endorsement, or another New Jersey instructional certificate/endorsement determined by the District and New Jersey Department of Education to be appropriate for the assignment.Demonstrated knowledge of elementary curriculum, instructional practices, classroom management, assessment, and student development.Ability to plan and deliver effective, standards-based instruction for third-grade students.Ability to establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, support staff, students, and families.Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Prior elementary teaching experience preferred.Required criminal history background check pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:6-7.1 and any other employment requirements applicable to New Jersey public school employees, including required medical/TB documentation pursuant to applicable law and regulation.CERTIFICATION NOTE:Candidates must hold the appropriate New Jersey instructional certification for the duties of the position. A New Jersey Substitute Credential alone does not satisfy the certification requirement for this extended third-grade classroom assignment, except where otherwise specifically authorized by New Jersey law and NJDOE requirements.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:Salary: BA Step 1 $60,702 annually, prorated for the actual period of assignment, in accordance with the Montville Township Education Association (MTEA) negotiated salary guide and applicable District payroll procedures.Benefits: Eligible employees may receive health, prescription, dental, vision, retirement/pension, and applicable leave benefits in accordance with the MTEA collective bargaining agreement, District policy, and applicable law.
