JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualified candidates should possess:

• Passion to teach elementary school students;
• Student-centered focus;
• Able to demonstrate knowledge of student learning needs and diverse learning styles;
• Ability to provide data-informed instruction aligned with District curriculum and standards;
• Strong training in the teaching of literacy and mathematics. Experience and training in structured literacy and Bridges (math) preferred.
• Willingness to collaborate within a PLC for student success;
• Ability to communicate in a positive and professional manner with students, parents, and staff;
• Passion for developing relationships and supporting all students in their academic, social, and emotional success;
• Background knowledge of trauma-informed strategies, Responsive Classroom methodology, and PBIS beneficial.

The Watertown School District has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students taught in seven buildings. Douglas Elementary School is a recently renovated Early Childhood - 5th Grade building with an enrollment of 412 students.

THE COMMUNITY: The Watertown community has 24,000 residents and is located on the Rock River approximately halfway between Madison and Milwaukee, at the junction of Highways 16, 19, and 26.
