Position Title Kindergarten Teacher Location Texico Municipal Schools New Mexico Employment Type Full-Time School Year 2026-2027 Reports To Principal Position Summary Texico Elementary is seeking a caring enthusiastic and dedicated Kindergarten Teacher to join our elementary education team. The ideal candidate will create a safe engaging and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that supports the academic social emotional and physical growth of young learners. The teacher will foster positive relationships with students families and staff while delivering high-quality instruction aligned with New Mexico state standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging kindergarten lessons in literacy mathematics science social studies and social-emotional learning Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs Use developmentally appropriate instructional strategies and classroom management techniques Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate records Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners including English language learners and students with special needs Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities Collaborate with grade-level teams special education staff instructional coaches and administrators Participate in professional development staff meetings and district initiatives Maintain compliance with district policies and state educational requirements Support student safety attendance and positive behavior expectations Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in Elementary Education or related field Valid New Mexico teaching license with appropriate elementary endorsement or eligibility to obtain licensure Ability to pass required background checks Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive and student-centered learning environment Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching early childhood or elementary-aged students Bilingual EnglishSpanish skills preferred Knowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices Familiarity with classroom technology and early literacy interventions Salary and Benefits Salary based on district salary schedule and experience Competitive benefits package including health dental vision and retirement options Professional development and mentorship opportunities Paid holidays and school breaks in accordance with district calendar Working Conditions Classroom-based position requiring standing walking lifting classroom materials and active supervision of students Regular interaction with students staff and families in a school environment Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
