POSITION: Elementary Teacher - Grades 3-6 DUTIES: * Facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students * Plan and implement effective, engaging lessons using appropriate materials * Provide evaluative feedback and communicate progress effectively * Maintain classroom management and a positive learning environment * Display thorough knowledge of subject matter and curriculum * Provide for individual differences and student needs * Supervise students and coordinate field trips and extracurricular activities * Participate in school events and support district initiatives * Adhere to district policies and safety guidelines REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university * Valid Colorado Teaching License or Certificate on file with Administration * Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively * Proficiency in basic math and ability to apply reasoning in instructional situations * Ability to operate a personal computer and related software OTHER REQUIREMENTS: * CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain * Strong interpersonal and organizational skills * Ability to perform job duties with awareness of district policies * Willingness to participate in school functions and professional development * Must be able to lift/push up to 50 lbs and perform physical classroom duties PREFERRED SKILLS: * Experience teaching intermediate grades (3-6) * Familiarity with East Otero School District curriculum and policies * Bilingual communication skills (Spanish/English) WAGE: $40,000 - $66,350 per year (based on education level and years of experience per the East Otero School District R-1 Salary Schedule) SHIFTS: Full-Time, 10-month contract JOB SITE: La Junta, CO BENEFITS: * Medical, dental, and vision insurance * Retirement plan options * Paid time off and holidays * Professional development opportunities * Employee assistance programs APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: If you meet the minimum requirements for this position, please click on How to Apply' to view application information.
