Position Details

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team at Van Dyke as an elementary teacher in one of our 3 elementaries. The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth. This full-time position requires a commitment to teaching excellence and the ability to inspire students to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles.

  • Create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusion, and a love for learning.

  • Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations.

  • Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and behavior.

  • Collaborate with fellow educators, staff, and administration to enhance the educational experience and address student needs.

  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.

  • Facilitate classroom discussions and activities that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and methodologies.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.

  • Valid teaching certification for elementary education.

  • Previous experience teaching at the elementary level is preferred

  • Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to create a supportive and engaging classroom environment.

  • Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Commitment to fostering a culture of respect and inclusivity within the classroom.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community.
