QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification as a Moderate Special Needs Teacher
  • Preferred or Intensive Special Needs Teacher

REPORTS TO: Building Principal and PPS Director

JOB GOAL: To consult with teachers and provide direct instruction to IEP students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as liaison for each assigned IEP student.
  • Provide tutorial and small group instruction for IEP specified services.
  • Develop educational plans (IEPs) to meet students' needs.
  • Assist regular education teachers in the successful inclusion of IEP students.
  • Consult with teachers, guidance and other support personnel for student goals, educational modifications; make up work, untimed tests, organizational skills, and other skills stipulated on the IEP.
  • Attend team meetings for new students and provide services (including writing of new IEP or amendment) as determined by team.
  • Coordinate with guidance counselors to oversee the tutorial program and schedule for any assigned IEP students.
  • Works as a team member for other specified duties at Gardner High School.
  • Complete all paperwork (including referrals for reevaluation) within the specified time limits.
  • Act as a resource for parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Chair team meetings.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School Year

SALARY BENEFITS: Per Teacher Contract

EVALUATION: Principal and Director of Pupil Personnel Director
