Elementary Teacher
Position Summary
White River Valley Elementary is seeking a dedicated and student-centered educator to join our team as a 5th Grade Teacher. The successful candidate will create a positive learning environment, deliver engaging instruction aligned to Indiana Academic Standards, and foster academic, social, and emotional growth for all students.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality instruction in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
- Develop lesson plans aligned with Indiana Academic Standards and district curriculum.
- Utilize assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote student engagement and responsibility.
- Collaborate with grade-level teammates, special education staff, interventionists, and administrators.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in professional learning opportunities and school improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and attendance.
- Support school-wide programs, activities, and events.
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills in students.
Qualifications
- Valid Indiana Teaching License.
- Elementary Education certification.
- Strong understanding of elementary curriculum and instructional best practices.
- Knowledge of data-driven instruction and student assessment practices.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and student success.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching upper elementary grades.
- Experience using educational technology to enhance instruction.
- Knowledge of RTI/MTSS processes and intervention strategies.
- Experience analyzing student achievement data to drive instruction.
