POSITION: Vocal Music with Art Teacher

Rose City and Surline Elementary Schools

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate Elementary Education (ZG) endorsement

required; additional Music Education (JQ) and/or Visual Arts Education (LQ) endorsement

strongly desired.

• Must meet federal requirements to be highly qualified in grades K-5.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Training in best practice instructional strategies and techniques preferred.
• Knowledge of Positive Behavior support program preferred.
• Effectively teach district approved curriculum and follow state benchmarks and expectations.
• Develop lesson plans, instructional material and differentiated instruction.
• Ability to effectively relate and communicate with students, staff and parents.
• Ability to organize, plan and effectively use technology and technology applications.
• Ability to design, coordinate, and conduct vocal music and visual art performances, showcases, and

school-wide programs.

Travel Requirements: Travels between school district buildings and to professional meetings as required.

SALARY: Per Master Contract

EFFECTIVE DATE: 2026-2027 School Year Begins August 24, 2026
