Job description

Title: Embedded Software Developer

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Developer to develop and support real-time embedded software solutions for aerospace and avionics applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in DO-178 compliant software development, embedded programming, and avionics communication protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded software based on low-level software requirements.
  • Build, test, and deploy real-time embedded software for target hardware platforms.
  • Support system integration, verification, and validation activities.
  • Troubleshoot software issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams on resolutions.
  • Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and technical leadershipactivities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded software development.
  • Strong knowledge and application of DO-178B/DO-178C standards.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and Python programming languages.
  • Experience with real-time embedded systems and object-oriented software design.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of ARINC 429, ARINC 618, VDL Mode 2, TCP/IP, and ATN OSI protocols.
  • Experience with aerospace or avionics software development.
  • Understanding of aircrew Human-Machine Interface (HMI) design principles.
  • Strong system integration, testing, and debugging experience.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and customer-facing experience.
