Job Description

Title: Embedded Software Development Engineer
Location: Redmond, WA
Duration:  6 months, possible extensions
Compensation: $70-75/hr
Work Requirements: Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
 
This is a fully onsite position. 
THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU

  • Develop embedded software using Rust, C, C++, or other modern programming languages.
  • Develop device drivers and system-level applications for embedded hardware interfaces, including I2C, SPI, CAN, and similar communication protocols.
  • Develop and enhance Linux kernel and RTOS features.
  • Implement security features for embedded systems.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware and software engineering teams to support board bring-up, integration, and system validation.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
  • 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and deployment.
  • Hands-on experience developing software for embedded systems, including board bring-up, firmware deployment/flashing, and operating system integration.
  • Strong programming experience with C/C++, Python, and Linux.
NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience developing production software in Rust.
  • Experience with cloud-based development tools or AWS environments.
