Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer 2 in Mossville, IL. The work will be done
onsite full time, 5 days per week, with a typical schedule of
8:00 AM4:00 PM. This is a
12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client.
Compensation is $59/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay). The position does not currently require travel.
Job Summary
The Embedded Software Engineer 2 will develop and test embedded software supporting
Remote Flash Onboard and next-generation service technologies. This role involves hands-on C++ software development, feature implementation, testing, debugging, and code/feature reviews within an Agile development environment. The engineer will collaborate with architects, developers, and testers across global teams while also gaining exposure to
leading-edge agentic software development frameworks and tools.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement embedded software features from requirements through testing and deployment.
- Develop and test embedded software supporting Remote Flash Onboard and related service technology applications.
- Test, debug, troubleshoot, and review assigned software features to ensure stability, efficiency, and functionality.
- Analyze system resources and make software changes necessary to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in daily Agile standups and collaborate with architects, developers, and testers across U.S. and global development teams.
Required Qualifications- 24 years of relevant experience in embedded software development; internship experience may count toward experience requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar/relevant field. An Associate degree with approximately 6 years of experience or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience may also be considered.
- Strong programming experience with C++, specifically C++14, and hands-on embedded software development experience.
- Experience or knowledge of agentic workflow development.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements, development, testing, delivery, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read schematics and component data sheets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative development environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience developing software in a Linux-based development environment.
- Experience with Git version control.
- Experience with remote-service or remote-flashing technologies.
- Previous embedded software experience involving machines, engines, industrial equipment, or similar complex systems.
- Experience working with distributed Agile software teams.
- Exposure to modern agentic software development frameworks, AI-assisted development tools, or agentic workflows.
