Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer 3. The work will be done onsite full-time in Mossville, IL. This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $68/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support advanced remote control and autonomy technologies for off-highway machine applications. This role will focus on designing, developing, integrating, and testing embedded software for real-time electronic control systems and vision systems used in remote control machine platforms. The engineer will collaborate closely with software, systems, and hardware teams to deliver scalable, production-ready embedded solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge autonomy and remote-control technologies within a highly collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, integrate, and test remote control software for real-time embedded systems
• Develop AUTOSAR-based embedded applications using Embedded C and MATLAB/Simulink
• Create and maintain software requirements with traceability to customer and system needs
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle
• Troubleshoot complex software and embedded system issues, including root cause analysis and resolution
• Develop and execute software verification and validation test plans
• Support functional safety software design and validation activities
• Work closely with remote control system engineers and global engineering teams to deliver production-ready solutions
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience
• 5+ years of Embedded C and MATLAB/Simulink development experience
• 5+ years of embedded systems development experience in RTOS environments
• Hands-on experience with AUTOSAR-based software development, preferably Classic Platform including BSW and RTE interactions
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with robotics, remote control systems, or autonomy technologies
• Experience with CAN, Ethernet, CANape, Wireshark, or related datalink tools
• Experience with git, debuggers, compilers, and Linux-based software development
• Experience with Qt framework, camera configuration, or firmware development
• Familiarity with FMEA processes and electronic system failure modes
• Experience developing embedded software for industrial, agricultural, mobile, or off-highway equipment applications
