Embedded Software Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Embedded Software Engineer in Nashua, NH for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will design, develop, modify, integrate, and test complex embedded software using modern C++ in Windows and Linux environments. The engineer will work with real-time embedded hardware platforms ranging from ARM processors to high-performance x86-64 CPUs and GPUs.

Required Skills

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance required to start.
• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 3+ years of directly related experience.
• Strong proficiency with modern C++ and object-oriented software design and implementation.
• Experience developing software for real-time embedded hardware systems.
• Solid understanding of software engineering and development processes for real-time embedded applications.
• Experience with software requirements, architecture, functional decomposition, subsystem interface definition, and technical analysis.
• Experience developing in Windows, Unix, and/or Linux environments.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Experience with Eclipse, Jira, DOORS, Git, and/or Bitbucket.
• Proficiency with source code control tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse engineering team.

What You'll Do

• Analyze, design, develop, and modify complex embedded software, primarily using C++.
• Evaluate software designs to identify and resolve design flaws.
• Develop software requirements and support software architecture activities.
• Prepare software design documentation in accordance with established engineering processes.
• Develop and integrate software in Windows and Linux-based environments.
• Support embedded targets ranging from ARM processors to high-performance x86-64 CPUs and GPUs.
• Integrate and test software within selected target hardware and test environments.
• Develop scripts using Python, Bash, or similar languages to support engineering activities.
• Use configuration management and source control tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver working software.
• Support continuous improvement of existing software products and development processes.

Work Schedule / Shift

• 1st shift.
• 9/80 work schedule.
• Tentative hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM.
• 100% onsite in Nashua, NH.

Pay

• $71.05 per hour
