Embedded Software Engineer

Location: New Freedom, PA (100% Onsite)

Loyal Source is seeking a skilled Embedded Software Engineer to support the development of custom control systems for chiller equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to work on embedded controls applications, developing software that interfaces with equipment controls and human-machine interfaces (HMI) within a collaborative engineering environment.

Pay: $60/hr

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement high-quality embedded software solutions using C and C++.
• Support embedded controls development on Linux-based platforms.
• Develop application-layer software for equipment control systems.
• Collaborate with software, firmware, controls, hardware, and application engineering teams to ensure successful system integration.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
• Perform unit testing and troubleshooting to ensure reliable and secure software performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (required).
• 2+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in C and C++.
• Experience working with Linux-based embedded systems.
• Understanding of software design, development, debugging, and testing principles.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite in New Freedom, PA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GitHub and Jira.
• Experience developing software for embedded controls or industrial equipment.
• Recent graduates with relevant internship or co-op experience are encouraged to apply.
• Experience working with custom control systems, automation equipment, or HVAC/chiller technologies is a plus.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing embedded applications in C/C++, a strong foundation in software engineering principles, and the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional engineering team.
